Resident Wellness

We are also offering a special resource for our residents in this website called the Interactive Screening Program (ISP) developed by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The SWP applied for and received a grant from the AFSP to establish this program for our students last year.  We are now separately offering this service to our residents.   The ISP is a web-based program that allows users to connect with clinicians at the SWP anonymously, answer a series of questionnaires evaluating their mental health, and engage in a dialogue to seek help.  Key principles of ISP include maintaining anonymity, having personalized contact with SWP clinicians instead of a computerized feedback, connecting to your experience by validating what you are going through without making a diagnosis or emphasizing the “need” for treatment, and working together with you to lessen your concerns about seeking services. This is especially  helpful for those individuals who may be hesitant to reach out, afraid to admit or acknowledge that they are stressed, anxious, burnt out or depressed.  The AFSP has established ISP in over 100 college campuses and over 16 medical schools.  Please check this out on our website if you want to learn more.
